On August 13th, the Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of 228 million eggs from three Wright County Egg farms in Iowa.  Today, they have announced an extension of the recall to 360 million eggs from all five of Wright County's egg farms.  Both recalls come after complaints of food poisoning due to salmonella bacteria and epidemiologic investigations.

State investigators announced today that they removed 250,000 eggs from warehouses in Arizona that they believe could be contaminated with salmonella from the Wright County egg farms.

The recalled eggs were sent to warehouses and distributors across the country on May 16th.  Reports of food poisoning from the eggs are concentrated in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin.
