Wednesday evening, a Tucson man was tragically killed in a pedestrian accident.  The accident occurred around 7:25 PM at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Virginia Street.

According to investigators, 60-year old Erasmo Valenzuela was crossing from the west side of the 12th Ave. and Virginia St. intersection to the east side.  Police believe that he was not crossing at the crosswalk when a vehicle traveling northbound on 12th Ave. hit him.  

The driver of the vehicle that struck Valenzuela says that she did not see him until after the accident.  When Tucson police officers arrived at the scene of the accident they found the victim with serious and life-threatening injuries.  Emergency medical service crews transported Valenzuela to University Medical Center where he passed away soon after arriving.
